ArchiOffice Discussion > Planning around OS X Leopard
We will continue to offer the standard UPDATES approximately every two months. Currently version 8.6 is out. In about another month we will release 8.7 (and so on). We will move up to v9 in the later part of the year as an UPGRADE.All existing users who are current with their support/maintenance will get the UPGRADE for free.
Neither FMServer or FMPro will be needed with the UPGRADE.
All versions of v8.x run in Leopard. However, if you sync with iCal - this is not functioning now, but we are working on a fix. Syncing with AddressBook, Apple Mail and Entourage do work under Leopard.
If you plan to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2008 - be warned that it does not allow VBA scripting and Macro's to run. This means the document templates will not be able to get the merged data from ArchiOffice. However Leopard does run Microsoft 2004 just fine.
We will be looking into how to handle Microsoft Office 2008 for ArchiOffice v9.
You will now need to make any special purchases to handle our Upgrades or our Update.
The only "special" work we did, was move our FMServer off of our server that was being upgraded to !0.5, onto an unused G5 with 10.4 Server installed with no services enabled. All our clients are still using FM 8 and are updated t0 10.5 and thus far we are experiencing no issues. Now that I have said that, I am sure it will all fail! ;)

Can someone give us a road map for upgrades and compatibility on the Mac in the coming year? We usually upgrade after we see how things are going. What do we need to be concerned about?
Leopard (I am using now on one laptop with no problems)
Server/FM Server?
Will FM 9 be needed in the next major upgrade?
We would like to plan and budget accordingly...
Thanks!
