This Blog's Mission

This blog was created on March 30th, 2007 and is about sharing all things ArchiOffice. BQE Software will endeavor to share with it’s customers what’s going on behind the scenes with the development of ArchiOffice. Meanwhile, ArchiOffice customers are encouraged to share their thoughts. BQE will listen and learn.

This site is not for PR or any type of marketing. It’s for an open and honest conversation between BQE and the ArchiOffice community. The purpose is to make ArchiOffice a better product and - in turn - allow our customers to be better Architects.

ArchiOffice Discussion > Project Status

I am looking for a new program that is better than our existing software, however the one very good feature of our existing software is that if a Project changes "Status" e.g. from for example "Design prelims Req'd" to "Waiting Client Response" the project only shows up on the relevent uses project list, therefor the only jobs that show up on a staff members job list are the ones that actualy require action. But when the Response is recieved that staff member can change the status and put it back on his "Action list".
This system works extremly well but how can i achieve something similar in Archicad, or how do you organize jobs ?

You mean ArchiOffice, RIGHT? ;o) x2

OK. Currently ArchiOffice has the following Status options: Active, Inactive, Canceled or Completed (for regular Billable projects), and Awarded for RFP (Request for Proposal Projects).

Only projects that are ACTIVE will show up for employees to use when creating their time-cards. However, people can still create tasks for an INACTIVE projects and have it remain on their To-Do list.

I think Archioffice do better than Dave's actual program...
...With Archioffice people can have the exactly idea of the tasks that might pop up... No surprises! But also no time-card can be created until it's active.
"THAT'S POWER!" ;o)

Thalking about ArchiCAD... :o)
I'd like to know if Archioffice plans to create some new feature related with CAD/BIM software... Like an add-on for ArchiCAD that automatically creates a project in ArchiOffice or something like this...

We have no current plans to integrate ArchiOffice with BIM models. Not that we don't hope to see it in our future, it's just not on our agenda for v9.
