ArchiOffice Discussion > Screen flashing

On one of our computers when in ArchiOffice the screen flashes so much, that it is unusable. It started yesterday. Does anybody have any suggestions short of reinstalling the program?

Krys,
I've seen this only on Windows PC's running XP. It seems to occur if there isn't enough video RAM. If another application is running that takes up a lot of video processing - the two programs might be fighting to push to the display. For example, if you're running Photoshop or AutoCad - try quitting out of it and see if the problem persists. You might also try and add video RAM to the computer if quitting out of the app is unacceptable.

Finally, check the display settings in the control panel and make sure the settings are set to 32 bit and not 16 bit. If it's already at 32 bit - try changing it to 16 bit to see if that helps. If it doesn't - return to 32 bit.

Let me know how it goes.

Steven,

It looks like it is a video memory related problem; limiting the amount of open windows seems to help with the flickering. I am surprised to see it because this is a 10 months old computer with a good Nvidia 256MB RAM card.
